The ‘Why’ Behind Cottleville City Fields

As we broke ground on Cottleville City Fields, I found myself reflecting on the journey that led us here. The question I’ve been asked repeatedly is, “Why? Why a soccer facility?”

The Community

Right at the core of Cottleville City Fields is this idea: we’re building a place that’s good for all of us. As a local business owner, husband, and father of three kids here, I see this project as more than just a soccer destination. It’s about creating a place where our kids get to learn real lessons – teamwork, grit, and what it means to be part of a community. We’re not just investing in a patch of turf; we’re opening up opportunities for our young ones to discover what they’re capable of, in sports and in life.

A State-of-the-Art Soccer Facility

The Cottleville City Fields are undergoing a comprehensive makeover including:

      • Cutting-edge artificial turf for two soccer fields

      • Implementation of energy-efficient lighting

      • Expansion of parking facilities

      • Creation of a picnic area complete with food truck hookups

Designed to accommodate players from beginners to collegiate levels, the fields will serve as a hub for practices, training sessions, local league games, and small tournaments.

A Hub for Spectators and Visitors

This place isn’t just for the kids who play; it’s going to be a go-to spot for everyone. We’re teaming up with eight clubs, which means over 150 youth teams and 1,500 kids are going to be here, giving it their all. Imagine over 1,000 games a year and more than 10,000 people coming through weekly. And they’re not just from Cottleville; they’re from all over the region…From Troy, MO to O’Fallon, Ill and everywhere in between. That’s a lot of new faces, and a great chance to show off what makes our town special.

    Impacting the Community Positively

I’ve lived in this area most of my life, and this project? It means a lot. It’s more than just a new spot on the map – it’s a kick-start for making our town even better. We’re talking about a private facility where hundreds of local soccer teams can come and play. And it’s not just good for the kids; it’s great for business. Picture a regular weekend here – families coming for games, hanging out, grabbing a bite, and shopping at our local boutiques. This is about giving a boost to our local restaurants and shops.

Building a Pillar of the Community

Here’s the bottom line: Cottleville City Fields is not just another project. It’s a foundation for what’s coming next in our town. It’s where our kids will learn and play, where we’ll gather as a community, and where we’ll grow stronger together. So come on board and be a part of this. We’re rolling up our sleeves and getting started. #thisisjustthebeginning
